We&#8217;re looking to hear from bands willing to donate a track, and filmmakers looking to make a music video. Not sure what this is all about? Check out music videos we&#8217;ve had at the Festival in the past. Musicians: We&#8217;re looking mp3 files from local bands who would be willing to have a random music video made from their music. 		<description><![CDATA[As the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival continues to grow, we are excited to expand the festival to include new and unique artistic experiences for Twin Ports audiences to enjoy. Homegrown is happy once again to announce a visual art component to this year’s festival. This is a serious attempt to show the cities of Duluth and Superior the talent that resides in our community. The emphasis on serious is no laughing matter! We want to see artists that are willing to meet us halfway in the process of displaying their art. This means art that is ready to be hung or displayed in a public setting, Application Form completed, and the capability to carry out the task of putting on a great art show. Artists will be picked by the Homegrown Arts Committee and will not be chosen based on the potential for profits for the benefit of the artist or the Homegrown Music Festival. The artists chosen have the opportunity to sell or not sell their work during the art shows. Raschick, along with an 11-person volunteer steering committee, oversees planning and implementation of Duluth’s biggest celebration of local music. Long time volunteer Melissa LaTour also joins the festival as Homegrown&#8217;s new Volunteer Coordinator. 2012&#8242;s Homegrown: The Apocalypse runs April 29 – May 6. Duluth, MN – December 13, 2011 &#8211; Walt ‘Dizzo’ Raschick is the new director of the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival, replacing Shana David-Massett who is leaving after two years with the non-profit festival. Dizzo is a graduate of UW-Superior and has been a music director at radio station KUWS since 2004 where he still hosts a weekly show. This is the fourth year that Dizzo has been a member of the Homegrown steering committee, holding the position of assistant volunteer coordinator for the ’10 and ’11 festivals. <p>The members of this year’s steering committee are Jake Larson (Assistant Director), Adam Guggemos (Secretary), Adam Depre, Brennan Atchison, Jesse Hoheisel, Mary Bue, Glenn Maloney, Henry Jenkins, Jesse Gangi, Jessica Myshack, Jonathan Lee, and Todd Gremmels. Each member brings years of experience within the Duluth scene and are all very eager to be a part of one of Duluth’s biggest events dedicated to art and music.</p>
